Updates

Bunny Tails® is now officially a federally registered trademark! It was a long, drawn out process, but I finally got it. Over the next few months I will be working on updating all my labels and tags to reflect the new trademark status. This may take awhile as it tends to be an expensive process ordering all new labels and updating the graphics to reflect the new status.

In other news, we now have size XS and S diapers through testing and the patterns finalized. We are still working on an additional three sizes as well as a new one-size style. These will hopefully be ready by early spring.

Product updates

I am currently redesigning and updating my pattern after discovering a few things I wanted to change when I started diapering my son. For one, I'd like the diapers to snap. At only 8 weeks old he has already discovered the velcro tabs on his diapers and pulls at them unless they are fully covered by his clothes. If his diapers are closed with snaps he's going to have a much harder time getting them undone even if he continues to tug at them. I've also discovered that he needs a higher cut leg opening than the average. Additionally, I've become frustrated with the extended drying times of true AIOs, especially since I have gone back to work full time. All of these issues have led me to do an overhaul of my pattern to update the styling to better meet my diapering needs. Besides, I figured if I am having these concerns surely there are others with some of the same concerns.

I'm still playing around with the cut and sizing of the updated patterns and having some limited testing of the fit done right now. I'm hoping to move on to a larger group of testers in the not too distant future when I get the pattern worked out more fully. Several changes I have made to my diapers at this point include adding front snap closures, a higher cut leg opening, lowering the overall rise a little by adding a slight belly scoop, and going from a true AIO with sewn in soakers to a snap-in-one styling with snap-in soakers. I'm also playing with the idea of offering an "AIO" version with flap style soakers sewn to the top of the lining for much faster drying times. I am also working on a new fitted diaper styled similarly to my new SIO style. I have not decided whether or not these changes will necessitate the need for a revised diaper cover pattern as well to accommodate the new styling of the fitteds.

I hope this fixes it!

I signed up for google alerts for both Bunny Tails and Bunny Tails Diapers in the hopes that I can more quickly identify any theft of my name or misrepresentations by others who decide they can use the Bunny Tails name on their own personal products. It's very frustrating when you've made your best efforts to ensure such a thing doesn't happen by legally licensing and registering your name and spending a lot of money to do so, only to find out it's being disregarded by others, either by unintentionally or deliberating using the same name. Basic, simple searching online would have revealed that the business name is already in use for the same type of product, as well as a shop account under the same name with basic product description on the same site as the thief. That leads me to conclude that at the very least they didn't not look to see that their chosen name was available, and at the worst, flagrant disregard for that fact. I can only pray this doesn't continue to happen while I await my official, finalized trademark application. Then again, just because I'll be legally trademarked doesn't mean anyone will actually bother to check.

Buyer Beware!

WARNING: It has come to my attention that someone else has recently decided to start selling diapers and covers using the name of Bunny Tails. However, they are not genuine Bunny Tails products nor does this person have any affiliation with Bunny Tails or permission to use the Bunny Tails name. It is a fraudulent misrepresentation of my products and constitutes theft of my business identity. Only diapering products purchased through www.bunny-tails.com are genuine Bunny Tails products.
